ASRAC has received funding from the NT Aboriginal Ranger Grants Program to control Mimosa pigra.
Gurruwiling is a Wetland of National Importance and the largest paperbark swamp in Australia. It is under threat from Mimosa pigra which forms dense, thorny, impenetrable thickets, devastating wetlands and threatening livelihoods and culture. Rangers have moved quickly, treating all known infestations in the swamp before wet season rains makes country impassable.
